Our Speakers:

 

Kelly Carden, MD

Dr. Carden joined the Sleep Centers of Middle Tennessee, PLLC in December 2007 after working at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Sleep Health Centers in Boston. She was born and raised in Tennessee and attended Vanderbilt University and University of Tennessee School of Medicine. After her Internal Medicine residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, she completed her Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine fellowships at Harvard Medical School.

She is a diplomat of the American Board of Sleep Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the ABIM subspecialty boards of Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine, and the new ABIM subspecialty board in Sleep Medicine. She currently holds 5 board certifications.

Dr. Carden is actively involved in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine as the vice-chair of the Healthcare Policy Committee and a member of the Presidential Committee on Compliance and Coding. She is a nationally known speaker and author and is considered to be a thought leader in the field of sleep medicine. She and her husband recently welcomed the birth of their first child. When she has free time, she enjoys traveling, photography, reading, and writing.

 

Alan O. Blanton DDS, MS

Dr. Blanton has practiced dentistry in Collierville for over 25 years. Upon graduation from the University Of Tennessee College Of Dentistry in 1983, he opened his office with an emphasis on restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

In May of 2005 he received a Masters degree from the department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research in the College of Education at the University of Memphis. He lectures nationally on various topics for dental professionals and dental students and continues to study and write on topics concerning the emotional and physical well-being of those involved in the healthcare professions.

In his leisure time, his hobbies include; woodworking, art, golf, playing the guitar, fly-tying and fly-fishing.

He holds active memberships in many professional organizations including:

  • The American Dental Association
  • The Tennessee Dental Association
  • The Memphis Dental Society
  • The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
  • The Academy of Computerized Dentistry of North America
  • The American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine
  • The American Counseling Association

Dr. Blanton’s immediate future educational plans include working towards certification as a diplomat of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and to begin providing treatment for patients with mild to moderate sleep related breathing disorders such as snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) by use of oral appliances in conjunction with the Physicians at an accredited Sleep Disorders Clinic.
